It contains a <a href="C-terminal" class="mw-redirect" title="C-terminal">C-terminal</a> domain unique from other RIP family members. The encoded protein is predominantly localized to the <a href="Cytoplasm" title="Cytoplasm">cytoplasm</a>, and can undergo <a href="Nucleocytoplasmic_shuttling" class="mw-redirect" title="Nucleocytoplasmic shuttling">nucleocytoplasmic shuttling</a> dependent on novel <a href="Nuclear_localization_signal" class="mw-redirect" title="Nuclear localization signal">nuclear localization</a> and export signals.
